Changsha Provincial Museum
This day was fairly uneventful. We visited the Changsha Provincial Museum for a couple of hours. The museum, which was housed in a modern building, mostly contained artifacts from the Hunan province. There were many items of clothes, pottery, tools, etc; much like you would typically find in an American museum. The highlight was an extremely well preserved mummy in a glass case. It was quite a sight and sort of scary. Unfortunately, we were not allow to take photographs in the museum.

Since we had some time on our hands, we decided to go to a department store which was a few blocks away from the hotel. The department store, named Apollo, was large and well stocked. They carried everything from clothes to toys to groceries. In the toy section, Tamlyn had a nasty case of diarrhea and we had to find a washroom quick. If you every tried to play charades with a store clerk who doesn't speak English, try it sometime and let the subject be "potty". After about 5 minutes of mimicking "potty" we were led to an outside porch where a ladies bathroom was. It was so filthy that Grace refused to go in there. We ended up changing Tamlyn outside on the concrete porch.

After completing our shopping, we returned to the room and soon discovered that Tamlyn had a very bad case of diarrhea. We tried to keep pumping fluids into her, but she was not a happy camper and neither were we.
